Looe or Polperro

Thinking of staying in either Looe or Polperro in Cornwall for a few days in August - which would be better to stay in (B&B wise)???
I know there's not much distance between the two towsn but just wondered if anyone could offer any advice in terms of which town would best to stay at.

If I had to choose between the two, I'd go for Looe as there is more there to do (more pubs/ shops/ restaurants etc), it's a bigger town whereas Polperro is more of a village with a quieter feel.

Polperro is lovely, very quaint, but I'm usually quite happy to visit for a day. I'd also imagine that Polperro would be more expensive for B&B accomodation.

Paradigm

Looe everytime, Polperro is nice but you soon run out of things to do & would be venturing further afield (Looe??)

I stayed in Looe during the 1st week of July & when I visited Polperro there were major works in the harbour... kinda takes a little of the "quaintness" away when you're dodging dumper trucks

Polperro: Nice place for a day trip.

Looe: Better place to stay, got more of everything + a nice beach.
