Unlikely, not least because the offence didn't take place on a highway.

Nope - public access so RTA still applies (as I was told by the coppers who did the same for me after a Tesco car park knock).

    5t.
What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?

It is going to bug you every time you clean the car in particular. You could try a local body shop for a quote - might do you a deal for cash.:)
Not worth an insurance claim. Your excess will probably be more than the cost and your premiums will go up.

A no fault claim (which this is) doesn't make your premiums go up...at least it didn't for me!

With no scratches a small dent will easily pull out and look good as new. I've done several myself using a hotmelt glue gun, a glue on pulling tool, a soft hammer and 50:50 acetone/water (to remove the glue).

Go through insurance and they probably want to replace/respray the whole door, total cost around £1000 and this will be added to your insurance premiums for the next 5 years unless they recover the costs OR you switch insurance companies.

Remember how they ask "have you had any insurance claims, regardless of fault in the past 5 years?"

    Bloody insurance companies!!!

I think dent devil is the way forward in any case - no doubt an insurance company will disagree. Forgot about informing the police. They're likely to not do anything about it because its so minor. I am currently pursuing a driver who knocked me off my bike - the police bucked their ideas up as soon as I mentioned an injury and hopefully I will be able to annoy them into throwing the book at the clown.
