    Success. :j

I have had the secret agent contact and sent the email off with my details a couple of days ago.

Just received word that I will not be charged any increase in tariff as I rejected said increase correctly and transferred supplier (to Npower, not Scottish Power as the email I got says).

Also I am not to be charged the £30 early termination fee.

My final bill is apparantly to be manually adjusted, so after seeing the problem Backfoot had with the final bill I'll be keeping a close eye on that!

Result! Thanks everyone, will probably stick around the boards now I've delurked.

    Fantastic news. :T

I've been asking EDF behind the scenes to keep an eye on cases like this to save everyone the ongoing hassle.

I am waiting to see if they will give me a customer contact point for such cases which we can post on MSE.

If the secret agent sees this, another poster has a similar problem. (stephga23).

I hope EDF will be paying my fees for all this consultancy.;)

I am told by stephga23 that EDF have settled this dispute favourably and waived the termination fees.:T

Thank you for the nice comments. Much appreciated.

You would have thought that given my access to some 'influential' people that my own bills would be correct.

My final gas bill was horribly wrong. It's hard to find out why as an 'estimate' was used which was around 10,000 KWh out and then was apportioned such that 7 days consumption apparently accounted for around 10,000 KWh of this. The latter part being charged at the post increase price, despite me having given the requisite notice.

So I let the top man know and today received a revised bill some £290 lower but it is so complex that I will have to spend a long time to reconcile it. I have asked for explanations but none have been forthcoming.

What is glaringly obvious is that they have still charged some of the consumption at post increase prices on the revised bill.

The Sunday Times ran an article on Supplier errors at the weekend and asked for customer experiences.I personally could fill the paper not just an article. Apparently they are in touch with Consumer Focus and Ofgem regarding such matters.

I have diligently tried to work with EDF over these last 8 months to not only help cutomers but to help EDF work with us to resolve problems.

I am afraid I have now run out of patience. :(

This is their core business. Supply and Billing. It should be 100% correct first time. I haven't received a correct bill throughout the whole experience over 8 months.

I know what conclusion I draw and will be telling the Regulator in no uncertain terms.

I'm just moving to EDF. This thread fills me with confidence, especially after it's taken two weeks to get through to them on the phone!

They are very proud of it. You can now twitter the twits.:rotfl:

    Social media apparently. :grouphug:

Much better than issuing guidance, help and answers. (or answering the phone)

Noticed my final bill was up on the EDF site today, got charged the £30 early termination, credited back as "goodwill payment", so technically still charged it....

Also charged the higher tariff from 14th July to 31st July, however a quick email to Social Media address had it amended, saved me £7 (better in my pocket!).

And despite logging on to my account on the 14th July to give an exact meter reading, it was still down as an estimate. Not that it will affect me now, but still I suppose I should be grateful I could actually log on to the EDF website going by what others have said!
