JSA,new job and what than?

Hi.

I was on JSA for about 4,5 months and have finally found a job. Had a confirmation last Friday, I start tomorrow at 11 so I will call Job Centre in the morning to inform (my next signing in day is Tuesday).
The problem is ,that it is a fixed annual salary and I will get a first wages after a month.
As far as I know, you get JSA for 4 weeks when you have been on JSA for 26 weeks ,which I don't fall in to. So it is really not fair, because who decides my situation is better than somebody on JSA for 26 weeks not to help me out anymore because I have found a job (which is great and shows I didn't intend to stay on benefits like some people do).
Is there any help I can get from Job Centre somebody know about or any other source to get to the first wages?
Otherwise, borrowing money is worthless because I will end up in the same spot ,just with a job but paying money being behind with.

Crisis loan is no good because it will have to be paid back so...

Adviser Discretion Fund (ADF) is available for somebody on JSA for at least 6 months so it looks like people who didn't drain the benefit money for that long are just kicked in the !!!.

Don't say free money because don't forget I had paid tax as well so when I had to face redundancy, was it my choice? Don't think so

You'll get your final JSA payment up to your last day of unemployment. That means you should get 12 days of JSA once the claim has closed (your claim end date will be today so you miss out on Monday and Tuesday payment because you are now employed. Due to not being on the benefit for 26 weeks or more you won't get any Job Grant.

The Discretionary fund can help with clothing allowance for work and you'll need to speak to the job centre regarding that. With your wages being a month after you start you can contact the Social Fund who maybe able to help - They give interest free loans (i.e crises loans) so if you have to borrow money talk to them. Presumably they set out a repayment plan so you may not have to pay it straight back in one lump sum.

Finally, I know it isn't easy but you could ask your employer for an advance on your wages. That does depend on your employer but if things are tight it could be an option.
