The White Company..bad customer service!

I read a grabit now for "social stirrers" on sale at The White Company, down from £8 to £1. I ordered 4 packets for my upcoming wedding, order went through fine and I received my email confirmation, money was taken from account and I eagerly anticipated the delivery (within 5 working days)
On the 5th working day I received a voicemail asking me to call customer services urgently. I did so and spoke to the most snotty,unhelpful woman. She had no idea why I was asked to call, basically called me a liar, couldnt find my order then when I explained what the order was she laughed (!) and said I couldnt be right because The WHite Company is a high end company and dont do orders for such small amounts! told me she would call me back at 7pm. I asked her to either call later or I would call her, as I would be putting my children to bed and would be unable to to talk without distractions (still clueless as to why they've called me to begin with!) She humphed and told me that surely they could wait and they dont really have the time to chase me about! I reiterated that I would happily call them when I was ready to, and was told fine, and she hung up.
At 7pm someone else called and told me that the order had been delivered to someone half way across the city and after giving me the address told I can go and collect it! Erm I dont think so, I am not going to pay petrol to go across the city to knock on some strangers door, for an item I paid to be delivered to me! I was then told that the person was going on holiday so I would have to wait 3 weeks for them to come back, send the parcel back to the white company and for them to then ship it out to me! Told them it was ridiculous and that I wasnt prepared to wait that long. Was told well we will have to send you out another one then, it'll be there in about a week, and again hung up on. Never got an apology or anything!
Now Ive received an e-mail saying items been despatched and is being delivered by HDNL, as opposed to the royal mail standard delivery. Its not coming any quicker than royal mail, but I now need to wait in for hdnl as it requires a signature! Called HDNL and asked for them to send to my oh works address which is very close to depot, and told they cant change delivery address, fair enough. I explained there would be no one home all week to collect so can I collect from depot. Again told no, if I couldnt be bothered to wait in for a parcel I knew would be coming it they would send back to white company! So now my partner has to take a day off to wait in for a parcel, and knowing HDNL they never turn up on the day they say!
And to add insult to injury 2 emails to white company have so far gone unanswered!
Im disgusted by their customer service, and for one will never shop there again!!

They sound awful but I can't help thinking that when people post stuff like "couldnt find my order then when I explained what the order was she laughed (!) and said I couldnt be right because The WHite Company is a high end company and dont do orders for such small amounts!" and "She humphed and told me that surely they could wait and they dont really have the time to chase me about! I reiterated that I would happily call them when I was ready to, and was told fine, and she hung up." then there is surely an exaggeration? No company would still be going if they had customer service like this.

You would think wouldnt you! The only exaggeration would be when I say laugh to quote it was a snotty "ha" with a sort of snort at the end! And by humphed it was a annoyed sigh. Otherwise its almost word perfect for the way I was treated!
Does anyone else find its the pricier stores with the worst customer service? Never been laughed at or made to feel like a liar at the pound shop!!lolIdeas,help and advice always welcome, judgements and assumptions are not!!:happyhearMarrying my Mr Perfect 20130 -
