Has anyone used the valet parking at the North Terminal? You hear horror stories of hundreds of miles on the clock when the car is returned etc etc Can anyone put my mind at rest please? Thanks

It depends who is providing the valet parking. There are some reputable firms, some less so.

And even some of the reputable ones may take the car quite a distance to park it.

Always look for a company that has a landline contact number - companies that set up just to take advantage of the summer market usually rely on mobile phone numbers only.

Try www.help-me-park.co.uk they operate the meet and greet parking for several hotels at Gatwick including the Sofitel at the North Terminal.

I wouldn't rely on this too much. You can get a free landline number in any UK area code from here, and it takes about 2 minutes to sign up: http://www.sipgate.co.uk/user/
Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks

dont use skyparking meet and greet my dad recently used them car came back damaged, another person had damage to his car also.

when they collect car they do a damage report but customer does not get a copy then all of a sudden on return the damage is added on to the report and company will not accept any liability.

Just recently used RS09 Meet and Greet in Gatwick, excellent service!

but the full story is we booked originally with another meet and greet (Executives, I think), however using booking agent Park and Go - literally couple of days before our journey we have got a phone call from them saying that the company ceased trading and we will be transferred to RS09, free of charge. At the time I was annoyed, but reading a dreadful stories about Luton Meet and Greet (Dynamic?), I am glad we used parkandgo.co.uk, so they have sorted it.

I'm also trying to book airport parking at Gatwick and am amazed at how expensive it is. The cheapest I've found for one week is around £55 and this is where you give your keys to them. Like you I am very wary of this.
