Winter Sun at Christmas 2011

I’m looking to book a holiday for 10 nights all inclusive to cover Christmas and New Year to enjoy some winter sun. Quite like the idea of Cape Verde, Antigua or Maldives but would consider elsewhere. Thing is I’m not sure where to start! I’ve never booked a holiday like this before and I fully appreciate these are expensive destinations anyway but over Christmas and New Year I dread to think what I’ll find!
Can anybody speak from experience (and is willing to share)?
Is there a recommended tour operator I can use?
How £much am I looking at for a couple?
Thanks in advance.
