Help on cancellation of london break

Hi guys,

I'm after some advice on a little situation we've got ourselves into.

Basically we were meant to be travelling by train to london today and staying for 2 nights in the Travelodge, Waterloo. Unfortunatly my girlfriends mother was rushed into hospital last night and we've spent the night and today there as she is in a bad way, so we made the descision not to travel.

I've been in contact with Superbreaks, who we booked with and they are willing to refund our train tickets and 1 nights stay at the hotel.

We paid for the hotel by credit card, so i was wondering if by any small chance that we would be able to recoup some of the money for the lost night.

I also booked advanced tickets for the london eye, tomorrow at 10.30. Is there any way of us getting a refund on these?

Many thanks

Steve

I think the superbreaks offer is very fair, dont think the CC should pay out either, it is not a failure on the part of superbreak or the hotel

Dont know about London Eye, have you looked at their website/booking terms?

Yes I agree the offer superbreaks has given us Is brilliant. I was purely asking the question to see if we could claim the remainder of the money back to book again at a later date.

Unfortunately we didn't have any insurance as we didn't expect my girlfriends mother to take a turn for the worse, it's certainly a lesson learnt for the future.

I doubt you'd recoup any of the other money, in fact I'm quite surprised you got so much back already I'd be more than happy with that if I were you.

hope your gf's mum gets better soon

This is the passage in the London Eye t&c

Payments for all ticket types and bookings for Private Capsules are non-refundable. All tickets and Private Capsule bookings may only be changed or replaced at the absolute discretion of LEC. If any customer wishes to amend the date or time of any booking on the Eye following the purchase of ticket(s) the customer should immediately notify LEC who shall use its reasonable endeavours to accommodate the alternative date and time requested by the customer. An administration fee of £10 per booking will be charged by LEC to that customer. For the avoidance of doubt, the administration fee will apply to all bookings made on-line on LEC's website (as referred to in condition 27), through the call centre operated by LEC and through the kiosks situated at the Eye. For Private Capsule bookings higher charges will apply.
