London Tube Travel with Railcards - Disabled or Family?

We are having a week away in London at the end of August and try as I might I just can't get my head around the different options to travel around
We are staying near the Olympia Station which is in Zone 2 and will need the tube for the usual Zone 1/2 sights - Big Ben, Buckingham Palace etc. Quite happy to travel off-peak - especially because we have two weekend days plus one bank holiday, all of which I think are classed as off-peak all day (?).
There are 2 adults, two children aged 5 and 14 and we have a family railcard already. I am also eligible for a disabled person's railcard but this would cost me an extra £20.
From here on I am very, very confused! It looks like my husband could travel at a child's cost if I were to purchase the disabled railcard, plus I would be entitled to 34% discount but would I be able to combine this with the children's discounts on my family railcard? Also do I need to apply for children's oyster cards before I travel as proof of their age? Do we need to get adults Oyster Cards before we leave?
I hope that this is posted in the correct section, I am completely lost now

If you are using railcards to get a reduction on travelcard costs you don't need Oyster - you get paper travelcards
Your 5 YO travels free. You don't need proof of age
Your 15 YO can buy a £3 a day off peak travelcard without a child oyster card. Your railcard will reduce this to £2.0
