Hi,
We are going to this park in a fortnight but have never been before, was wondering if anyone else had been and what is it like,
It,ll be our first time in Skegness too so any tips on where to go and what to see would be a help to, theres 2 adults and 3 kids and we don,t drive so will be relying on buses or taxi,s
Thanks:beer:

The beach at Skegness can be a bit hit and miss, and its a long way out to the sea. You might be better travelling up to Ingoldmells as the beach there is nicer. They have 'Fantasy Island' there which is a bit like a pleasure beach with a good indoor market if thats your thing. There is also Pleaseure Island which is a bit further up in Cleethorpes. There is a regular bus service that runs up and down the coast.
Skegness itself has quite a few shops, and iirc has a seal sanctuary which could be worth a visit.Pay off all my debts before Christmas 2015 #165.0 -
I am afraid I have never been to Southview but have been told it is a nice site.
I would reccommend tourist information as your first port of call as they have good vouchers. Secondly.... The park near the pier is the best kids park in Skeg and walks all over the main park. Fairy dell is a free paddling pool. (Stand facing the beach at the clock tower and go right) Gibralter Point is the local nature reserve, good for a picnic, but not sure if the buses go down there. Ingoldmells is worth a visit at this time of year and if you decide to go to Fantasy Island they take tesco vouchers or the local "Skegness Standard" newspaper often has discount codes. It is also home to a very big market, but that really depends on the sort of goods you like to buy. Boston is a local small market toen (Bus fare about £6.00 return for an adult) Not a bad little town but would definately go on a Wednesday when the market is on. Bottons the skegness fairground is much cheaper after 5 o clock. All the supermarkets are clustered together, Tesco, Morrisons, Lidl and Iceland. There is also a Heron on the main high street.
Just thought, not sure if it is still running but Cgurch Farm museum is free, quite small though. Also 15th - 19th is carnival week.
Anything else you want to know, just ask, I know it better than I probably should.Loving the dtd thread. x0
