You shouldn't go to prison however as it was a priority debt you should have been paying it instead of the internet, your mobile phone and Sky TV and going out on a weekend.

And you cannot say you've not been paying for internet....
I know it sounds weird but the court can prioritize payments for internet, mobile and sky over that for council tax. If I don't pay for the internet then I can't work. If I don't pay for my mobile then I can't make or receive calls related to work. If I don't pay BT for my line rental then my broadband will not work. A Sky package for some people costs £19.75 including free internet and free evening and weekend calls therefore it can be cheaper than internet and a call package from BT. I know you are probably going to say that all this isn't true but i have a repayment arrangement arranged through the local magistrates court and my internet and mobile charges are more important than paying my taxes and fines. My payment arrangement is £10 per month.

As for going out on the weekend. I used the maximum groceries figure taken from CCCS advice for the court's SOA (£45 per week) and take a bit from that to go out with. It's not much..

my partner was bringing in a wage of 271, with this we had to pay£130 rent and pay gas electric and gas plus water , food, and clothing for the kids.I dont smoke ,drink or take any kind of drugs, ive never been in trouble with the police.

We had nothing left to pay them and was borrowing of my parents and family of which the back payment was given to them, the money that we owed them.so we couldnt pay the C.T.

We was unable to fill in the form they sent us because we didnt have the total income due to t/c not processing and they wanted the total income of the house hold which we explained that we couldnt give them that and if they could base it on the wage which they actually declined to do because they needed the total income.

So what you did was to prefer your family when you received your lump sum instead of paying the council tax.
Who do you really think should have been paid first? them or the council?

I'm sure that the council and the court will be impressed with that statement!

    What a div!

So in fact I was correct. And BTW, you can't have broadband in your home without a phone line so you don't need a mobile phone. And if it is so important for your job your company should be paying for it.

I take it you've never heard of fiber optic broadband?

Had you been facing my brother, he would have been asking why your work wasn't paying for your mobile and internet if you need them to do your job. You've been lucky and got a clueless moron magistrate. But then again, as I'm not a bum I haven't been to magistrates court because I couldn't pay my bills so I don't speak from experience.

And just what percentage of homes in the UK have that installed at the moment? Oh, and amazingly the packages come with calls as well....

So your business isn't viable then. Close it down and get a job.

I'd hazard a guess that hardly anyone in the UK is a customer of Virgin Media...

Oh, and just because you can get fiber optic (aka cable) broadband package alongside a phone package doesn't change the fact that you were absolutely wrong when you said: "you can't have broadband in your home without a phone line."
