Organising a car boot sale

  • Hi I am organising my first Charity Car Boot Sale this Sunday 4th August. I have advertised it in local paper, put posters up in shop windows and had information boards up at busy trafic lights all explaining date, time and address of venue with a contact name and number to secure a place but as yet no one has rang and I fear no on will come. I dont know what else to do. The car boot is held at
    Burntwood School/Community Centre
    Church Top
    South Kirkby
    Pontefract
    West Yorkshire
    WF9 3QS
    01977 624910

    Cars £5 and Vans £8
Sellers to arrive for 8am and Buyers after 9am.
    Toilets are available

I do hope you haven't organised it for the 4th August

Seriously though, the car boot market is huge and regulars will already have established their preferred sites earlier in the season. Last year I did a charity one at a school and it was a disaster, 10 cars and about the same number of buyers as all the sellers and buyers were at the mega car boots already.

Yu could try mentioning it on freegle as well

Could you offer local charities a free pitch & in return ask them to put an ad in their wondow, although of course time isn't on your side now.
