Joy! An ESA50.

That's the thing.
Its a pretty short form and you get four weeks to fill it in. What's with all the !!!!ing whining?
If you've a mental health condition you dont even need to fill it in as they will call you for the medical anyway. Less time on here whining and more on the form would be sensible.
I don't think anyone was complaining about filling in the form as such... although you've now provoked such with what you said..lol. I think the point of the thread is to highlight the emotional drain associated with these benefits that some people endure. The filling in the form itself took me 4 weeks but next time will be considerably swifter I expect. Nothing has happened in relation to my ESA for over a year now but the only times I seem able to escape thinking about it or DLA is ironically when I'm here on these threads at arms length from the self in the world of others.
But I think you totally underestimate the effects of some mental illnesses. Completing the ESA50 or similar can be an absolute nightmare... it isn't as simple as ticking boxes and writing a few lines of information for everyone.
Ironically of course the HCP that did my medical admitted she hadn't read my ESA50 (possibly because she wasn't originally assigned to do my medical)."Do not attribute to conspiracy what can adequately be explained by incompetence" - rogerblack0 -
No it isnt. Your talking !!!!!.
I've seen ESA50's where a clearly sensible person has completed and returned the form within a week and covered everything they needed to cover. They generally go into one of the groups. Some people are clearly too stupid to receive benefits though if they cant tick a box and write a few lines about how their 'illness' effects their life.
There are obviously 2 percent of decision makers who do their job properly according to professor harrington, shame about the other 98 percent who dont though, so most people would find their form ignored and ATOS's findings given precedence.[greenhighlight]but it matters when the most senior politician in the land is happy to use language and examples that are simply not true.

The impact of this is to stigmatise people on benefits,
and we should be deeply worried about that[/redtitle](house of lords debate, talking about Cameron)0 -

At which point, next time, you should insist they do read it, and if they dont or cant, then the medical should be halted, as they, by their own rules HAVE to read it before commencing assessment.
[the only problem is, its likely atos would fail to tell the dwp the truth and you would be marked as a fail to attend or something, so make sure you get something in writing to cover your back from the assessor][greenhighlight]but it matters when the most senior politician in the land is happy to use language and examples that are simply not true.

Indeed, its seeing the form that provokes the dread, for example, that I may have to go through another TWO year battle like I did last time.
And despite winning that two year battle, I am STILL being messed around and about to fall into rent arrears due to the DWP being quick of the mark to tell housing benefit to stop paying, but very very slow to respond to HB's queries so they can re-instate.[greenhighlight]but it matters when the most senior politician in the land is happy to use language and examples that are simply not true.

I think she'd have struggled..lol.. my writing was so heavy and small that she'd have needed a magnifying glass haha"Do not attribute to conspiracy what can adequately be explained by incompetence" - rogerblack0 -

I could not even apply for ESA the usual way (by phone) as their system could not handle me due to having an IB claim already on the system.
No one even mentioned I could do it online.
Mind you, it took them months of me living of crisis loans before they told me I could even claim ESA whilst appealing the appeal.[greenhighlight]but it matters when the most senior politician in the land is happy to use language and examples that are simply not true.

You've never said why no one in your household can work. you yourself spend longer on here each day whinging about Atos than you would spend in a full time job.0 -
What I meant is download the form at http://www.direct.gov.uk/prod_consum_dg/groups/dg_digitalassets/@dg/@en/@money/documents/digitalasset/dg_195544.pdf
Good for doing a draft and getting comments from others to ensure everything relevent is covered properly.0 -

No I dont, if you add up the time spent, its far less than a full time job.
And look at the posting hours, and gaps etc.
What job allows that?
I notice you have not addressed my question to you either?
Which by the way is on topic, unlike yours, which is just being incredibly nosey.[greenhighlight]but it matters when the most senior politician in the land is happy to use language and examples that are simply not true.
