i get paid on fridays and the money shows in my available balance that day so i use my card to pay bills etc or dds go out
but on a saturday my account is always over drawn cause barclays dont actually confirm my wages going in till monday so any card transactions/dd make me overdrawn
i spoke to them and they just said its the way they do things
but im being charged 8.00 odd evry time i go o/d so usually getting fines of 24-32 pounds a month
anyone give me any advice how to prevernt this
(oh and not pay for stuff till monday isnt helpful ) cause i have arrangments in place have to stick too

You appear to have 3 options:
1. Put up with it
2. Change banks
3. Delay the 'payment orders' until Monday
Since you've already discounted option 3 your choice is much easier.0 -

Since you don't want certain advice I'll limit my advice, but in relation to direct debits most organisations will allow the payment date to be varied, so vary it by a few days. If they won't agree draw your own customer conclusion about that organisation.
Perhaps this is more of an "employer issue". Given that the pay date is "Friday", is your employer aware that the payment arrangements that have been implemented isn't resulting in cleared funds until the following bank business day.
Perhaps my employer is being "too reasonable" but I get cleared pay on the second last bank business day, so it is possible.
Before you do that try to find out from your bank what your employer would need to do to ensure "cleared" funds on the pay date (and what they are currently doing) (4.2e of the helpfully linked Terms and Conditions). BTW I am assuming you are paid by credit transfer and monthly. Did you say? Apologies if I missed that though I don't think "weekly" changes the fundamental issue.
Edit: on later reflection are you *certain* your Barclay's online balance says "available balance", but doesn't consider it "cleared". If so perhaps *I'd* have recourse to the Barclay's complaints procedure.0
