Hi all
First time user but i have scanned the site many times without the need to post
My son is about to rent a house he has separated from his partner 1 year ago and since has been staying with us. until recently he has been unemployed so has no savings.
He has a take home pay of 1080 pounds a month [sorry pound key will not work on key pad]
rent 411
council tax 80
gas electric approx 60
water rates approx 30
support to his daughter 150
tv licence 12
Total 743
leaving 84 pounds per wk to live on
taking into account that he has my grand daughter on sat and sundays
does not leave a great deal for quality time taking her out.
Any advice would be a help
ps he does not have any debt borrowing etc

he can put his details into entitled to.
Assuming this is private rental he needs to also find the LHA for his area (shared rate if under 25, 1 bedroom rate if over)
If he is over 25 he may also qualify for working tax credits assuming he is working over 30 hours a week0 -
i manage on £60 a week for a family of 4, £84 a week is loads left over. You don't have to pay to go out.0

Quality time is about just that - 'time'! It does not involve great (or any) expense!
How old is she?
Also, he needs to ensure he eats well for as little as possible, as that leaves more for other things.0 -
£84 a week is a good amount for one person. The only thing he has to 'spend' with his daughter is time.
Does the mother of his child have £84 a week spare?Pay off all my debts before Christmas 2015 #165.0 -
I have less than £84 a week to live on after all the bills are paid, what does he need to spend money on that costs more than that?
Days out at the park etc are free, by the way.0
