Yoo-hoo Jinty...glad to be back, though it was great to be north of the border
!
Perhaps eventually we will move back to the home country. DH did say that he wouldn't mind moving to Orkney...work and kids leaving home permitting, so who knows, some day.... :j
Ooh, sounds lovely - it's good to have a dream!;)SpendSpendSpend wrote: »NSD 7 for me today. It's amazing how you get into the swing of this once you start. Everytime I even think of spending anything I think of this forum and it stops me. It's like you're all angels on my shoulder fighting the devil on the other shoulder!!;)
Aw thanks Spendx3 - here's one especially for youNSD no2 yesterday. Was a little bit sad that I missed out on one on Monday as I had to buy eyedrops from the pharmacy oweing to having a nasty case of conjunctivitus... ah well, needs must
Laura, I would think that was an essential spend - conjunctivitis is horrid, hope you're on the mend soon!
Evening all!
Apologies for the late post, it's been a mad few days. I've been working half days in order too get home in time to walk the doglet. My regular dogwalker ( Mum) has taken herself off on holiday, the cheek of it!;)
Anyhoo - I'm up to NSD # 6 , so I'm getting there. Tomorrow I have grocery shopping to do, so spends there. I'm seriously considering excluding grocery shopping from my NSD's. I try to do one shop a week, but with the amount of fresh stuff I use it's more practical to buy twice a week. I hate buying loads and then chucking it because it hasnt lasted a week, IYSWIM? I might make my rule that if I dont stray from my list OR buy anything other than that, i.e.flowers, sweets etc I will count it as a NSD.
Sorry for the waffle - I'm in a pondering mood!
Have a good night all!:)
you will always be rich enough to be generous.0 -

:mad::mad: I was soooooo close to my NSD today, but had to call in Mr T after popping my library books back to get milk for work. That wouldn't have counted as it is on expenses, but then spotted 2 melt in the middle chocolate puddings on the whoopsie shelf for 49p & i just couldn't resist (i told myself it was a treat for my first day back at work since the dreaded mumps!).
So cross for losing an NSD over such a stupid little treat (that i didn't need!), but am going to put it to the back of my mind now & enjoy my pudding with a cuppa
If i love that picture so much, think it is your best yet!!

NSD no2 yesterday. Was a little bit sad that I missed out on one on Monday as I had to buy eyedrops from the pharmacy oweing to having a nasty case of conjunctivitus... ah well, needs must
Laura, if your only spend was for medical reasons, I'd be tempted to still count a NSD.NSD8 this month. Today has been a bad health day whereby I may well have spent money as a reaction to the circumstances. However, that would not have solved anything so have to think and search to find other ways to rise above things.
Well done dannie, and :grouphug:, sounds like you need them x
jinty - I always love your ponderings - so feel free to waffle some more
Well not a NSD for me BUT spoony, before you get those kippers out, let me tell you my achievement...
Had a very successful day couponing, popped into Mr S and came out with
2 x Fairy Liquid
1 x Bacardi (for some reason I couldn't get two prints from my FB)
1 x Sanex (1/2 price - 50p off)
2 x Blue Diamond Almonds
1 x Colgate 360 brush (actually got 2, SA only scanned 1 coupon but I didn't realise until checking my receipt so the other was returned)
1 x Dettol wipes (50p off coupon)
and some soup mix - the only full price item I purchased - at 72p!
Original Balance £13.51, Total after coupons £2.74
Re-printed the Fairy coupons after mine didn't scan yesterday, initally SA WAS scanning the wrong bar code (will remember that one for future ref), then one went through ok but the other came up date invalid - thankfully this SA put it through manually
Also had a run up to the big Mr T, won't bore you with purchases but total before coupons £34.95, total after discounts and coupons (incl a 2 x club card one for pet food) £9.60, plus I have a money back offer for the dishwasher tabs of £7.15.
Annoyingly, the dishwasher tabs were in store at £14.30 not advertised at 1/2 price, so i'd have basically been paid for my shopping with the money back offer had they been full price - first time I've been miffed about an unexpected 1/2 price
I managed to get a watering can for me and my mum reduced from £5 to £1.25 and the last box of grass seed - 1kg down to 75p (which did involve me scrabbling round behind the shelves where the loan box had fallen down)
Oddly the pet food on 3 for £10 did a £2.63 discount twice - and with the 1/2 price dishwasher tabs, it took me under my £30 total (had a £3 off £30 voucher), however £35 of shopping for what will be about £2.45 isn't to be sniffed at :j
Oh, and I have a pile of wombled receipts...so fingers crossed for a good JTD :beer:Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16
