Hi guys,
Just wondered if this sounds ok, had a look on the net for ages but can't seem to get a definite answer:
I've ripped the bathroom out and removed old 16mm bathroom floorboards (planks) and planning to replace with spruce 18mm WBP ply (screwed down) and then laying sheet vinyl on top.
Not sure about the spruce as it seemed quite 'soft' when i saw it in one of the sheds compared to hard ply. Would prefer to use hard ply but the shed was recommending spruce for flooring.... something about spruce being structual and hard being non-structural...
Any advice would be great! Thanks in advance.

25mm hard wood faced plywood would be the better option, screwed to joists and all edges fully supported with timbers. Should be able to get ply for approx £40 per 8x4ft sheetHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure0

wouldnt recommend standard plywood for a situation where you have the potential for water and humidity as it can delaminate quite easily. If you must, choose marine ply, but far better just replace with floorboards.0

try wedi boards
It will insulate and waterproof the floor, different sizes available. Also ideal for tiles.0 -
18mm WPB will be fine as you are only laying sheet vinyl but 25mm would be better.
