Hi, I hope you can help.....I filled in the ESA50 form a few weeks ago and today I received a letter stating that I was in the support group (I was not asked to attend a medical so I guess they made the decision based on my claim form+GPs report)....

I just wanted to ask :-

    1) will I still be called for an ATOS medical even though I'm in the support group?

    2) if/when I am asked to go to the medical when will it be??? (any time/after a specific time of claiming esa??)

    3) Is it a requirement that EVERYONE has to have a medical assesment via ATOS??

    thanks for any help!XX

    Well done.

    1. Not this time. The Work Capability Assessment comprises assessment via ESA50 and usually medical.. plus any other evidence they get or you send in. They've decided you qualify for the Support Group in this WCA without requirement for the medical.

    2. In the future you will likely be re-assessed. That re-assessment will be another WCA but once again you may not be required to attend medical.

    3. Not everyone. But most claimants do face an ATOS medical as part of assessment and re-assessment.
