Family and Friends Railcard

Hi,

With doing almost weekly train trips between Durham and Leeds/Manchester and being 27 I've been looking to see if theres any options for a railcard.

I saw this one, but it does say I need to have at least one person of age 5-15 added on the card which I could certainly do, but do they need to be present with me on all my journeys?

I'm unsure of how it exactly works and if I'd be eligible for such a card so any help would be appreciated.

Yes, you must have a 5-15 yr old with you when travelling on a Family and Friends railcard (F&F) discounted ticket.

Quote from the F&F website;

1. Am I eligible to use a Family & Friends Railcard?

Your group must have at least one named Family & Friends Railcard holder and at least one child between five and 15 years old. The named card holder must travel for the entire journey with any passengers who have been bought discounted tickets.

You can take a child under 5 if you want but you still have to buy a child ticket for them to validate the F&F discount.
