London to Edinburgh. Tips?

Options
Hi all, I 've been envited to a stag do in Edinburgh from the 23rd to 25th feb. Does anyone know what the cheapest way to get there is? Easyjet is about £60, but I'd like to take the train if possible (not too fussed though). Does anyone know any tips or tricks? Thanks...

  • Well - the train takes a long time.... so if you don't mind 8 hour trips....

Lowest I could find was £16 return from London Central.
Goes up to about £40 - for flexible etc.

Thanks, the "saver return" is 98.20. Just goes to show how much cheaper two singles are (nearly half price)!

The GNER and Virgin trains from London to Edinburgh only take about 4.5 hours. When you take in mind travel time to airport, check in time, flight time, waiting on bags etc, travel from airport to city then its pretty much going to be the same length of time anyways.

Ive travelled Edinburgh to Newcastle a few times and I always book singles cause its loads cheaper but you need to make sure you can deffo make that exact train because your ticket would only be valid on it.
