Hi, I'm hoping to plan a trip to london for my husbands birthday in december and was thinking of booking the Hiltons London docklands hotel as they have a free car park and its just about affordable for me. we need somewhere with a car park as we have two young children and i cant face the thought of going on a train with them. has any one stayed there and would you recommend it, is it easy to get to the southbank from there as we want to do the london eye? thanks

Tripadvisor reviews: http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g186338-d199849-Reviews-Hilton_London_Docklands-London_England.html
Reviews seemed quite mixed. It's worth reading a few reviews rather than just taking the overall score as sometimes people give poor reviews over things that may not be important to you.0 -
thanks for that - i appreciate your help!!0

this is not a Docklands hotel - quite deceiving.
its on the river but on the other side with nothing close and no transport.
Try the Hilton cANARY wHARF0 -
Hiya
We stayed there some years ago & really enjoyed it. But you need to look at the transport connections if that's a concern with the kids. http://www.hilton.co.uk/HiWayWeb/appmanager/portals/hotel?_nfpb=true&_pageLabel=hotel_maps_landing&ctyhocn=LONNDHI&_portlet.portalUrl=/HiWayWeb/appmanager/portals/brand&_portlet.portalId=brand_portal
Looks like the boat across the river is now free & you should be able to get the river bus from there into town. Wasn't cheap, but you certainly used to be able to get tickets with Tesco vouchers, & it's a great way to travel & see the sights along the way. Otherwise it seems it's a public bus to Canada Water.

I stayed there just last week, a very nice hotel, quiet with good views of the Thames. The restaurant and bar were a bit on the expensive side but then it is London!
Oh and I saw you mentioned the free car park, just be aware there are very limited spaces.0
