wouldnt it have been cheaper to hire a carpet cleaner yourself? In fact I bet you could buy a wet/dry hoover for that! Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
Today , I started sorting out EBAY stuff. Got boxes of old vids and dvds that havent been used for a couple of years.
Have also stocked up on wrapping paper and cards for next chrimbo at a fraction of the pre xmas price.
I also sent an email chasing my expenxes at work and informed them that I no longer have a car , so they will have to provide a replcement vehicle when my compnay vehicle is in for servicing etc... This froms most of my expenses , trying to get them to pay mileage allowance etc...........0 -
I stuck to my shopping list at ASDA - just a bread/milk top up as I am determined the food we have will last until Sunday when I do a big shop!

I failed to give in my notice at work, which is the most important thing I must do! So feeling annoyed with myself about that.
But I
* made my first loaf of bread and cake with my new breadmaker (christmas present) so ready for the packed lunches when school resumes tomorrow
* asked Equitable Life for a quote for life insurance, thanks to helpful people here who suggested I look for cheaper cover
* changed a 5 Euro note left over from a school trip and used it to post two Amazon parcelsTotal debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -
Where did u change the €5 note? I have one too that I'd like to exchange but the commission would wipe out all the value.
I worked through mu lunch break today, due to work being very busy. So that's 0.5 hours overtime @ time x 1.5. And did a couple of Quidco searches/free sign ups, netting about 50p.
Then I went to my mum's, and found out she had more milk in her fridge than Co-op daireys, so I've got a couple of pints for free from her and therefore put off having to go to the shop for a couple more days.
Last year I was trying to do big things, this year I'm determined to do a small thing each day towards my debts. Even if it's just a few pence each day, every little helps as Tesco say!
Tomorrow's plans - more Quidco, post some Ebay stuff and hope work's busy again so there might be another half hour's overtime. I also need to make it part of my daily routine to check the mystery shopping sites for work.Amazon sellers club - member number 63.

Today I was still off work so I:
1) Sent 3 Prelim letters for reclaiming bank charges, total £5800!!!!
2) Cleaned and valeted my own car - saved me £8 on the girl who usually does it - but then spent £15 on oil and antifreeze...
3) Finished the bit pot of curry I made for a cheap but yummy New Years Eve meal
So a pretty good day!Addicted to Facebook

Hi Andy
I changed it at the Post Office, as it's commission free (and I needed to post the parcels). I got £3.14 for 5 Euros. Just checked on ft.com and they say 5 Euros is £3.37 so looks like I got a bad deal. Maybe not worth it if you're likely to go to Europe in the near future but alas I'm not.
I agree about doing small things every day but I want to do big ones too!Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -

Hi,
Thanks, I need to post some ebay stuff tomorrow so I'll see if my Post Office will change the Euros to pay for it. If not, I'll try the main one in town at the weekend.
It would be nice to do one big thing every day too, but time and opportunity don't permit. Last year, I'd happily work an extra shift for overtime, but if I worked through my lunch I'd save the time and finish early when it wasn't busy. This year I've decided that, even if it's just 15 minutes extra work, I'll claim overtime and get a couple of pounds in my pocket. If only I could stop the tax man taking his cut!! Got 22 hours at time and a half due to me in January's pay. If I can do that every month I'll be laughing (but there won't be the overtime once the busy period is over at the end of this week

Hi Andy
Well done on the overtime. I'm going to try and do a big thing every week and a little thing every day. This week the big thing is trying to sort out cheaper life insurance. Not sure what today's little thing will be though.
