Asda Home Delivery service!

Options
I had a list of items due for delivery Saturday last weekend. The driver was 25 minutes late and there were 13 items either not delivered (even though they were on the delivery note) or unavailable and not substituted (bag of salad - I can't believe there was no salad in the whole store - Asda Wal-Mart Superstore).

So, I tried ringing them to complain but couldn't get through. So I emailed. No response.

I thought that it was probably because the delivery was due for a Saturday and maybe there wasn't much on the shelves that day so I thought I'd give them a second chance and had another order due for delivery yesterday.

Mid-afternoon I get a call to say my order has been cancelled because the store is short staffed, and they can deliver on Saturday. So I said no, because of the previous problems with Saturday deliveries.

I went to the store myself last night to do my shopping in person as it were and got on ok, but again, some shelves half empty etc. I have decided to give them one last chance and booked a delivery for this coming Thursday so we'll see how they do. I have had about 5 deliveries on Thursdays and they've all been fine so fingers crossed.

If they mess this one up, I'm off to Tescos but our local store is only small so I'll probably end up with the same problem re not getting everything I need.

Does anyone know how I can contact Asda re the delivery charge refund and taking the other non delivered items off my bill? They don't seem to want to answer the phone or emails :(

    This makes me so cross.

You have spent £4.75 on a service and it was not carried out.

You have had to get out and go to the supermarket - something that you should not have had to do.

What would have happended if you were an invalid or you had young children and it was difficult for you to get to your Asda?

If you pay for a service, the supermarket should make sure that home delivery customers get either what the asked for or a substitute.

I must admit I have had problems last week with Tesco, and I had to go to Scotmid and que up for stuff that Tesco were supposed to have delivered.
Treat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.

Loadsacash, yes you're right. I've paid for something I haven't got and had to make a special trip. I thought of the people who didn't have the choice to do that and really feel for them. We'll see how they go this week.

Derrick, thanks for the customer services number, I'll give them a go and write a letter. Hopefully they won't ignore that as well!

re the size of your local tesco, when you order online, the products come from a nominated "superstore" in your area (for example the NW has about 5 in total), so the size of your local store shouldnt reflect in the availability of your order.

personally, i love Ocado. I've never had a problem with Sainsbury's, either.
