Ryanair hand luggage - trunki?

Hi guys, just wondering if we ok to take a trunki as hand luggage on a ryanair flight?
According to website trunki is fine length ways, but about 0.5cm out on width and height.
There was some discussion on here about a year ago and most people had gone through fine with them as they fit in the ryanair box, but just wanted to know if anyone's had any more recent experience of trunkies on ryanair?

Trunki's are fine for Ryanair hand luggage, my daughter has one & we've used it on Ryanair loads of times. As long as it fits into the bag checker at the gate (which they do), then you'll be fine.

Trunkis are definitely fine for Ryanair's hand luggage allowance even thought the stated dimensions are 1 cm over. We've flown a few times (Bristol to Beziers) and had no problems with them.

Agreed, but Kids get a lot of pocket money these days so £40/40Euro's to put it in the hold shouldn't break the (piggy) bank.

If it's too big - it's too big. You might get away with it 9 times
and on the 10th time get caught and have to pay. We wouldn't like
to see anyone come back to tell us they had to pay.

When we recently flew to Dublin with Ryanair, we were at the boarding gate early....hubby picked up the Ryanair cardboard luggage checker and tried it in the metal gauge thing - the box didn't fit in. Oh, how we laughed!!! :rotfl:

Well with the thickness of the cardboard it is unlikely to?

The cardboard box was an example of the maximum size that your hand luggage is allowed to be. The irony was that it didn't fit in their own metal gauge that they use to check for oversize baggage.....

They drop the cardboard box over your bag (it has no base) to check the size. The interior of the box is exactly the correct size.
