Firstly I'm a technophobe, a middle age man with a smattering of common sense, I'm looking to buy a DVD recorder with Twin freeview HD tuners & a HDD, see I have a Sat box (Not Sky or Virgin or anything like that, just free stuff via Astra) & would like to be able to record both Freeview HD & stuff on Sat box but don't know how many HDMI's & AV 1's or 2's etc plus leads, it's all Dutch to me & I've looked at that many now my heads spinning & I'm no wiser, I favour the Panasonic dmr-xw380ebk at £300 but I'm unsure, can anyone help with advice or recommendations before my head implodes.

Panasonic are the only manufactures of DVD recorders with HDD and twin Freeview tuners that I know of, so the HDMI etc is all irrelevant to the purchase as the box will come with these as standard. As long as your TV has one HDMI socket at least you will be able to view HD recordings, if only Scart the HD will be shown in SD.0
