We have a Sharp combi oven that I love. We replaced a 15 yer old microwave with it a couple of years ago and it had to fit in a specific space. I also have a free standing gas cooker with separate grill (not a double - really wished I'd spent the extra money at the time). I rarely use the cooker now, unless I have to cook something e.g. pizza which doesn't fit in my combi oven. I've no idea whether the combi oven is more economic as we had new heating put in at the same time!

I find using the combi bit very complicated and gave up doing that except for the presets like baked potatoes! It is a fan oven and heats up within minutes and had a two tier rack so I can cook something on the bottom and on the top. I also use it if on rare occasions I am cooking something on one temperature in one oven and something else that needs to be a lower or higher temp in another oven.

The only problem I encounter is when I am cooking something in the oven and then need to use the microwave as well, but you work round it! I find it a bit tricky to clean, even with the old style lemon in water trick (which works). It will be interesting to see how long it lasts compared to the previous one which had a grill in it which was useless. Actually my brother in law still uses the previous one, so it's still fine!
  • The 40 litre version has a massive enamel turntable that has cleaned easily everytime, not matter what we've cooked! The turntable cooks a pizza on it with ease, being 14 inches in diameter.
Fog on The Tyne isn't mine all mine... but if I wanted it, I'd want it with a discount code.

We went for the combi kenwood cj66ss which meant a welcome clear out to fit it in, all i need now is advise on how to use it to the full, do you use the oven like a full size one, how quick does it heat up etc, any advice would be great as i want to make the most of it and now just have a fancy microwave.
The more i save the more i can spend:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

    I've been Money Tipped!
We recently bought a new combination microwave from Currys (using a number of codes from HotUKDeals) but the cheapest place for microwaves we could find was :

    http://www.theatlanticshop.co.uk/CatalogManagement/ProductList.aspx?action=browse&category=Combi+Microwave(Base)

The postage os about £9-£12 as far as I can remember. If there is a model you like ther you could always try to get a price match somewhere else...
