If it is less that £10 they will always agree. How nice of them.
Apart from my sarcasm detector going into overdrive with that comment ;) Don't forget that not only don't they HAVE to do such a gesture, but many other banks wouldn't give you the time of day regardless of how little you went overdrawn by. :p

No your right they don't have to refund it. But most banks have a buffer on the accounts to stop silly things like getting charged £50 for going over by 40p

Or at least let you pay the money in on the same day to cover your mistake. Once your over with Santander, doesn't matter if you pay money in 10 mins later to cover it.

That's a fair point. Fingers crossed they'll have something in the future where it'll be easier for customers and the staff (so we all have less charges problems to deal with! ;) ).

We are talking about the same bank arn't we ????:rotfl:
  • I actually rang them, the bloke gave me a good patronising about my account but agreed to wipe off 25.00. He did say "as far as I'm aware" if you pay on the same day you don't get charged. Good customer service ey??
  • I've been with Santander for quite some time now, and I recently fell into finacial difficulties and decided in order to become "debt free" that I would include my present overdraft (although it was not that much) in my debt consolidation plan, and therefore only have a cash card with another bank to avoid going into further debt.

So I gave all the details recieved confirmation that santander had agreed the payment plan and that no default charges would go on to the account. So I thought great, sent the card back job done 1 payment and it will get paid off shortly.

Well to my surprise not only does it seem that Santander like to go against what they have said in writing, but although regular payments have been made through my debt management not only have they now put a default against me to the credit reference agencies which will be on there for 6 years, but they are also charging me an unauthorised overdraft fee of £5 per day!!!! So since consolidating the debt, santander agreeing it and agreeing to reduce the overdraft to £0 while it was under my plan but the debt has now increased!!!!!

I'm sorry if this has nothing to do with the original thread but I'm now in a complete panic, do I speak to Santander or do I speak with my debt consolidation company for them to deal with. Is this something that having for proof of it in writing that no charges would be put against the account etc that I could ahve reversed??

    Please help
