Download and install Tweak UI http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx 147kb file and then when up and running click on repair and then choose rebuild icons from list then click on repair and see if that works.0

Click on start, then run and type in Control Panel and click OK or press enter.Scottish proverb - "Never drink whisky with water and never drink water without whisky"0

You mean it's not shown on the main Start Menu?
Then right-click on the Start Menu, then click Properties, press Customize, then Advanced tab.
There's a small window of Start Menu items - I'm assuming that Control Panel isn't selected - choose Display as a link or Display as a menu for Control Panel, then OK, then OK in the other box
- as a link means the Control Panel window opens separately; as a menu means a list appears to the right of the Control Panel menu item when you hover on it
If it is already selected then I'm no help to you.
