As someone who has been camping for the last few years with kids (in all sorts of weather!) I would suggest that you give these tents a miss in all honesty.

You really want to go for at least a berth, if not 2 bigger than what the tent says it will sleep, otherwise you end up all cramped in with everyone tripping over each other and no room for any of your stuff, especially if the weather turns bad and you all have to be inside, can turn into a bit of a nightmare ;)

I would say buy the biggest tent that you can afford, with a decent sized living space and seperate bedrooms or even better give me a budget and let me see what I can find for you ;) :rotfl:

I just recently bought this tent http://www.outdoorworlddirect.co.uk/vango-breakout-800-dlx-tent-smoke-ocean-premium-tent.html hoping to road test it this week :D

Camping is great, I love it lol

    £199.99 here

Thanks - just got back from camping trip and managed to crack our picnic table on one of the seats so needed to get a new one - managed to get the aluminium one with seperate stools for £22.49 instead of £79.99 - has good reviews too unlike the plastic one:)

I wavered over buying one of the 6 man, 2 or 3 bed tents late last night but thought i would sleep on it.

Looked this morning and read some of the reviews, seems the consistant theme is leaking as the seams are not of great quality. Ok if you are just using in the garden when its dry but dont count on it out in the "great" british weather.

Plus the hydrostatic guage is only 1500mm which is only for occasional light showers and mainly for use in dry conditions. 2000mm is the minumum neaded for a tent apparently

you can get seam waterproofer and use that, under 10 quid a bottle

you could if you really wanted get the tent waterproofer spray, that would help aswell

£5 off if you spend over £50 too by using TDX-MNGH at the checkout (sorry if this is already posted, I only read page 1 of the thread!)

We used that on our first tent, it's ok if the seems are intact but the tesco tents have quite a few reviews stating that the seams are sown really badly and tear easily

Which retailer did you buy from?

Sounds like a great deal and we are looking at Vango as we family camp all year round.
