Citibank Credit Card - God theyre slooooooooow

Still waiting on this now. Just called the 0800 number and got Eugene who said they have received my credit agreement back, and it will take 7-10 working days to "assess" and then I will get the card 7-10 working days after that, !!!!!!. There is nothing to assess as far as I can see. The credit agreement was nothing more than a load of conditions with a box to sign - i know this is what an agreement is, but the fact they say it has to be assessed still worries me. Surely you assess and then send the agreement. The letter that came with the agreement said: send back the form and we will send your card. There are NO wording on there that says it is subject to any checks or anything. 7 times I called them now and am no further forward at all. 30 days since I first applied and they still cant tell me whats going on. He said call back on Monday and then had to cheek to ask me if there was 'anything else' he could help with?

Not strictly credit cards but Citibank. I sent an application for a current account online away ages ago with all the various bits and pieces including a cheque to open the account. Three weeks later I got a letter asking me to send a cheque to open the account. So I phoned them and was told that the signature on the cheque I had sent them didnt match the signature on the application form!
I have no idea why as it is my signature!!
I asked what to do and he said send another cheque and they would send the first one back to me. To date have heard nothing from them and neither of the cheques have been cashed from my account.
Very poor, wouldnt want to be in a rush or anything. :rolleyes:Not buying unnecessary toiletries 2024 26/53 UU, 25 IN0 -
Does anyone know what criteria Citi use for Platinum cash back application approval/acceptance other than credit rating - excellent/999 ?
Is it ever worth trying more than once ?
Thanks0 -
bucket - the companies are very secretive about how they score but if you have an excellent credit rating then other things that might put them off are if you are not on the Electoral Role, if you have just changed jobs or moved house, and if your current level of debt & available credit is high compared to your income.
They will not accept another application if they have only just rejected you but it may well be worth contacting them and apealing it if you think they made a mistake.0 -
Got my card today. No idea what my credit rating is just now, but was mid 400s at the time I applied. Have since sorted a few errors and inaccuracies on there, but doubt thes have even been updated on my report yet. Will take a while to filter through. I did get the platinum card also by the way.
Im not sure about trying more than once, and Im not sure I could be held responsible for my actions, as they have taken the longest time to get the card to me!0 -
Citibank kindly sent me a pre filled application for their platinum card just at a time when I was looking to change cards. Delighted to have found a psychic financial instution  , I duly signed it and sent it back... only to be turned down !!! Great marketing Citibank ! Interestingly my credit score / history is fine...0

I applied for a 1% cashback card at the start of this month and got a message that they couldn't decide online but i'd hear by post or email within 7 days.
Having heard nothing since, I phoned them today to see what was going on. They had no record of my application and suggested I apply again. I've just done that and surprise, surprise... they can't decide online but I should hear from them by post or email within 7 days.
I have made a note of the 'authorisation' reference number this time, although I don't think I can be bothered to chase it up again!0
