Santander reducing Overdraft limit

    Banks don't like it when they never see the account go into credit. If you're constantly in your overdraft that may be another reason why they've reduced it. As you've now got a new job, they might be more inclined to reassess it for you but you need to speak to them as soon as possible, depends whether your new salary will be enough to start to repay it.

    It does seem a little odd - it's a student account and it's kept within the agreed limit. Dollops of cash also come in at regular intervals. What's more likely is that Santander are feeling the pinch and need cash.

    But it's not a student account anymore. It has been for years.
