I would have him in nappy for bed too.. are they just the usual pullups you are using or the proper bedtime ones?
My daughter wears the pampers underjams and she outpee's everything and these have been great for her.. she is almost 11.
She also used to sneak in my bed at night until she was about 4.5 .. she would sleep on the bottom of the bed if she couldn't get in and I often kicked her off not knowing she was there.. oops! She stopped when we got a higher bed and she couldn't get on. you do need to be firm and keep making him go back to his own bed.. choose a week when you don't have to be off somewhere and can be a bit tired and just keep putting him back in his own bed, remind him you will see him at breakfast and what you will have (toast/cereal/juice) and tell him goodnight see him in the morning and leave him. It took about 1-2 weeks for this to sink in to my lots heads.. my bed.. my time.. the children have me all day they don't get me all night too!
She also bf until she was nearly 3 because she wouldn't stop.. she would help herself too.. I would unlatch her, put boob away and tell her later I had something to do.. she stopped asking after a while. I had tandem fed her and DD4 for a year by this point.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Surgical spirit gets rid of wee and poo smells (1 part to 8 parts water)Real men never follow instructions; after all they are just the manufacturer's opinion on how to put something together.0

Absorbing odours isn't an exact science like baking. Sprinkle it liberally ensuring the whole stain is well-covered0 -
I can't comment on the potty training but it would be worth a visit to pets at home regarding the smells. Any of the products for toilet training dogs like simple solution would get rid of any smell. If you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you always got!0

My eldest daughter was dry during the day at two and a half, but wasn't dry at night until she was nearly seven. There was nothing wrong with her - she was just a very heavy sleeper. I left her in nappies at night (she could undo them herself by then!) until they were dry every morning. It took all the tension out of the situation and when she was ready it was obvious.
As to the smell in the carpets - as others have suggested, put a big towel or something under the potty. Most probably you can smell it when no-one else can anyway, but bicarb is good on carpets if it's more than that.If we are supposed to be thin, why does chocolate exist?0 -
thanks again, think I'm going to go with the baking soda then go to pets at home if that doesnt work.
pigpen I should have known to ask you, you must have been through the pottytraining stage a fair few times!0 -
A bottle of Simple Solution (from Pets At Home) is a useful item to have in your cleaning kit. In my opinion, well worth every penny.#Life isn't about waiting for the storms to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain #We must be willing to let go of the life we planned so as to have the life that is waiting for us #If you focus on what you have left behind, you will never see what lies ahead - Gusteau/RatatouilleGC 2022: £0/£2,500 total spend0
