Internet Security Renewal - Pricing?

I'm hoping someone can explain this to me.
I currently subscribe to McAfee Internet Security Suite v 8.0. If I login and and try to update my subscription the price is £39.99.
If I just type McAfee into Google I am immediately taken to a page that appears to be selling the same thing - on their own site - for £24.99.
If I type McAfee Internet Security Suite into Froogle I get a vast array of prices starting at £4.86!!! Some say they are 2007 versions, some 2006 but all seem to have a 1 year subscription.
I just don't understand if they are all the same thing or if I am being stupid trying to go for a cheaper option. I am completely non-technical so don't know what to look for. I have read the stuff about how you can get all this fro free but to be honest for the sake of a couple of pounds per month for a friendly easy to understand system I am happy to pay.
So can anyone advise which one I should go for and what the differences are? And while you're on why it is that McAfee appear to value it's exisiting customers so little?
Cheers!

Dont buy the upgrade its a rip off.
buy a new version remove the existing version and install the new one. version 2007 no longer requires the registration that was needed for the older versions, you just get 1 year of updates from the date of install.0 -
Why not just get the free ones recommended by Martin?
