Hi - bit style challenged - am stuck for colour for hall way (lots of it and a bit dark in 70's bungalow)
I have cream furniture with seagrass baskets and mid oak floor.
If paul the painter is around was thinkinhg of using the Dulux trade diamond - what colour would everyone reccomend?

I've just used Farrow and Ball's Dimity in my lounge and hallway - the hallway was very dark but now looks great. Dimity goes really well with natural wood and cream colours.
You could get Leyland/Dulux to colour-match it if you don't like F&B's paint0 -
OOh like that - very different0

I have just had my hallway painted from a dark colour to an off white, Jasmine, dulux endurance (as have a toddler). I love the natural calico, but was a little dark still for me as I wanted a white finish. I posted a thread it's here if you want to see other MSE'ers recommendations... https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/3376068=0

I'm painting my hallway Lemon Shake as it _really_ needs brightening up and I'm matching it against brown wood and carpets. I know it seems like it would be too bright, but on my walls here it works well (my hallway is pretty dark though)
I'd also suggest natural hessian, which I think would look nice in a hall - but I've used it in other rooms so don't want to wear it out.
Both colours are from the dulux range though you'd need to get the lemon one mixed rather than 'off the shelf'If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything0 -
I used this in my hallway. Contrasts well with the wood architraves, skirting, etc

Loving the colours and even better some of the names of the colours on the Farrow and Ball's website that Jebrelli mentioned.
Dead Salmon, Smoked Trout, Cat`s Paw even have Mouse`s Back:D

Funny you mention Smoked Trout - I'm currently arguing the case for it to go on the new lounge cupboards and shelves!
Partner prefers Little Greene's 'Rolling Fog' (I was so used to the F&B names I initially thought it was Rolling Frog)0 -

Oddly enough I've been asking myself the same question as the OP, and that FB Dimity is lovely. How is it for ease of application and wear?Warning: This forum may contain nuts.0 -
Is there a way to see the actual colour? An online image might be way out. I've seen printed booklets from Dulux and I have no idea if the patches are accurate. I know you can get samples, but where do you paint the sample?Warning: This forum may contain nuts.0

I'm having a similar problem, last year I bought paint in a sale so have 2 choices for the hallway Apple Crush or Lemon Crush. I'm thinking of putting a small sample patch of each colour on each wall as I reckon each wall has varying amount of light and I will choose the the best one.0
