small business after retirement

Hi - I'm 63 and on just a State Pension, think it's about £6486. I want to sell some handmade jewellery, sort of hobby/business. A young friend has offered to set up a website for me. Could anyone tell me how much I could earn without worrying about tax problems, or would I have to complete tax forms anyway to say exactly what I'm doing?
Also, if I open a business account in a 'business name' does it then have to be registered as a business.
Although extra earnings would be nice, I want to keep it small but don't want to run into problems! Would appreciate anyone else's views.
