credit card compensation...scam????

i have recently been contacted by a company re ppi mis selling. on informing them that i had no loans they went on to say taht i could be in line for compensation on my credit cards.

the reason being that my credit limits have increased without medicals taking place. the figure they are talking about is £4000+. how they have come up with this figure i am not sure.

an up front fee of £299.99 is req'd.

i declined the offer but wonder what it is about and is it legit?

i have had an endowment for 25 years.....could this be inline for some compensation?
