Where to look for last minute UK breaks

I have got a week off work soon, but cannot really afford to go on what I would term a 'proper' holiday, so hoping to find a cheap break somewhere at the last minute for just a few days away for two adults and one child. Does anyone please happen to know the best websites to look on for last minute UK holidays? I have had a look on lastminute.com, but they seem to be overseas holidays. I have tried Ebay and I have tried looking at the websites for Pontins and Haven. Does anyone have any useful suggestions please?
Thanks in anticipation.

If your thinking of North Wales and a chalet on a decent holiday park i can PM some numbers. When are you looking ??
P.S its not mine we are booked sorry but i do know the place and owners. hard as nails on the internet . wimp in the real world :cool:0 -
I am on holiday the week after next. I was really hoping for Somerset, Devon or Dorset rather than North Wales. Don't relish about 4 hours in a car with my son - I wouldn't rule it out though, so please feel free to PM a link to your friend's website or a phone number.0

google for some of the holiday cottage websites cannot remember the one I just booked with but it had "owners" in the title. Got a great deal, £300 off normal rate for late booking mind you that was outside school hols.
Try some of the hotel sites, de vere for example do four night breaks very cheap although I dont think there is anything in that specific area.0 -
http://www.ownersdirect.co.uk/ could be this one then.
North Wales is too far as petrol will cancel out any savings when we have been down your neck of the woods we have stayed at Cotswold Water Park Nr Cirencester http://www.static-caravan.co.uk/obrien_cotswold.htm . Broadway House Park Nr Cheddar http://www.broadwayhousepark.co.uk/accommodation.html Devon http://www.parkholidaysuk.com/static-caravans-for-sale/south-devon-holiday-parks/dawlish-sands Mainly booking through the owners directly all will say a decent standard of holiday:cool: hard as nails on the internet . wimp in the real world :cool:0 -
I signed up for free with zoopla and get e.mails every week, not always my way, but have some great offers, even for day trips.
Good luck.

Three good sites I would recommend:
www.lastminute-cottages.co.uk - book direct with owners - we've used them, very good
www.therealvisitorsbook.co.uk - look at their late deals pages - doubly good becuase all the properties are recommended by recent paying guests.
www.underthethatch.co.uk - mostly Wales, but some in other parts of the country - always do last minute deals as would prefer their properties to be rented than empty

I can recommend http://www.chycor.co.uk/ for last minute bookings, or even those not so last minute. I got £200 off a summer holiday (offer now ended) and have booked a 2 bed cottage for £310 at the end of August! I was well chuffed!0
