Hard Disc conking out?

My pc has started to run very slowly and the hard disc is making those clicking groaning sounds. Is there somewhere I can get it checked out to see if it is dying?

The Long warrenties with hard drives were stoped a few years ago when fujitsu had a problem with their 10GB drives IDE/SATA drives usually had a 1-3 year warranty the 5 year warranties were normally reserved for SCSI drives.

As peope have said back everything up and leave the pc off untill your in a position to replace the drive if you can.

To see if the drive is on its way out
Right click my computer and click manage, expand event viewer and select system if your drive is failing you will have disk errors listed with a red circle and white cross in there. double click the error and it will tell you which disk (disk0, disk1) it is if you have multiple drives you can go down to disk maanger and find out which drive it is refering to as the drives are listed using the disk0 and disk1 numbers.

My laptop drive started comming up with the errors on christmas day so I wiped my removeable 2.5" drive and swapped them over to save the old drive. I will replace it when scan opens and I have a bit more spare cash.
