My husband works alone why does he still have to pay to listen to the radio?
He was cold called by PPL, asked if he had a radio, how long he had owned it and how big his workshop was. He got 2 invoices straight after this call for nearly £200.00 for playing a radio in public!!!! He is on his own for god's sake! We had never heard of this company or radio licences before? They have also charged him for not paying for his licence before, even though we had never heard of it? How can this be? We have no money, where are we to fingd this £200.00? Why do we have to pay for the coming year when we don't have a radio? Can anyone help?

Has he been playing his radio in public?
It matters not how many people he works with.
One needs a licence to play radio in public.
Sorry to say that having never heard of any legislation is a poor defence.0 -
I thought if you worked alone you didnt have to buy one of these licences.
Do other people ever go into his workshop.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0
