Very Noisy Computer Fan.

    Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
    This is what the Zalman fan regulator does - it can be used on CPU and case fans. Less fiddly than soldering in a resistor and more controllable. It fits between the fan and the motherboard connection and you can stick the regulator outside of the case on the rear with a sticky pad (supplied). They are only about £4 too.

    I can't post links yet as I'm new here but Google 'Quiet PC' as they sell them and all the other goodies as well.

    BTW I don't work for them, I have just been impressed by their service and advice.

    There are two different regulators - one for the 2 pin CPU fan and another for the 3 pin PWR fan - they sell them both.

    Not necessarily. My computer is a few years old but it has made the same noise from the off.
