I just got a vintage Valor No.12D paraffin heater. It`s in a bit of a state! Got it on Ebay and the guy selling it didn`t say it had no wick.
So I have bought a wick for it, still to come. However, I can`t figure out how to actually change the wick
so if any kind soul can give me idiot proof directions for that it`d be very much appreciated.
This heater will be used in my kitchen to help in this coming winter`s predicted cold.

Not sure about the No 12D but i have a round one and the wick is feed from the bottom of the burner when it is removed from the tank. the end of the wick should be submersed in paraffin. Hope this helps !0

On most of them you just fed the wick into the slot for it, from above, whilst turning the feed knob in the "down" direction. The teeth in the mechanism will grab the wick and feed it down into the tank.
Let it soak for a couple of hours before lighting it.0 -

Round ones from the bottom as they tend to have loose "dangly bits" to soak up the fuel.
Red Doe I have a nearly new stove in its original box (over 50 years old)in the attic as when I used it in my garage I found it very expensive to use as paraffin has got very expensive. you would be a lot safer and better off financially if you used an electric oiled filled radiator0
