Off to San Fran in Sept, both are not fish eaters but love steak/burgers etc etc.
Any good steak/ribs places I should visit?

Cheesecake factory.
Go steady on a starter/ main if you want to have a hope of trying the cheesecake as portions are generous & very good.
It's a chain restaurants so also found in other US cities.0 -
No idea on the steak places as I'm veggie but you must go here for the irish coffees

Apparently this place does great burgers:

It's one floor below the Cheesecake Factory in Macy's. I would also vouch for the Cheesecake Factory, always had decent food there (big portions too).0 -
In n' out burger at fishermans wharf - I will not eat MacDs or BKing but these are YUM...obviously this is not for a romantic dinner out
Daily Grill also recommended0 -
Cheers guys!
We are lovers of the outback steakhouse but cant see one in S/F:(0 -
McCormick and Schmicks is a very good seafood restaurant... Here's the one in SF

Go to happy hour. Sit in the bar area and order the $2.95 cheeseburger. This has to be THE best value meal in the US!

There is a drink minimum ($2.95). Order a glass of wine or a beer and you're good!
Cheesecake factories are good. Only downsides are
1. The queue's to get in them at peak times are huge
2. The drinks cost a fortune
I'm also a big fan of outback. Surprised there isn't one there. Longhorns are good too. But there aint one of them either

It's nearly 3 years since i was in San Francisco but Max's on the Sqaure was excellent! It's a restaurant rather than fast food so obviously a bit pricier, but I had a fantastic Greek-style lamb burger there and OH had beefburger. Mmmm, bloody starvin now.
I also reckon that anywhere that 'Man V Food' has been is worth a try.0 -
The stinking rose is pretty good.
And on the man v food front we had some amazing sandwiches at ikes placeLive each day like its your last because one day you'll be right0 -
The 'Man V Food" and "Diners, Drive Ins and Dives" websites are always a good guide to somewhere to eat that's good and cheap!!The stinking rose is pretty good.
