Contacting Santander by telephone

Can anybody help me get through to Santander by telephone? I have rung their complaints department and online banking department but despite successfully passing their telephoning password screening for them to give me my current balances I cannot get any further as whenever I pick option 9 to speak to an advisor (which the voice states is the number to press) the voice says "sorry I do not understand". Can anyone explain what I am doing wrong. Frustrated as I have been sending them secure messages online, made a complaint online but other than an email to state they have received my email, nothing.

Go here .....
http://www.saynoto0870.com
Click on "Search to find an alternative number".
In the box Please enter a Company Name to search for enter "Santander".
Click on "Search" and it should display many numbers for them.
We use them for business accounts, so don't have any idea which to choose, but I hope this helps you.
Good luck.

Being a saffy saver I have their freephone numbers but the key 9 which is supposed to put you through to an advisor is not working. I am successfully going through security getting my current balance etc but when I press 9 to speak to an advisor the computerised voice says that is incorrect."Look after your pennies and your pounds will look after themselves"0

Following a suggestion on another web site which stated I should just ignore the instruction about pressing any keys and I will be put through to an advisor. I did this and an advisor from Glasgow sorted everything out for me. Said she would flag up the fact the key 9 was not operating correctly. The free phone number I used was 0800 7317774."Look after your pennies and your pounds will look after themselves"0

Earlier this year I had a run in with Santander.....I went on their website and emailed a complaint using the complaints link, within 40 minutes I had a phone call from Santander complaints dept and two days later a hamper arrived.
Still took my business elsewhere though.0
