Hi - Heading up to Portballintrae in a couple of weeks for a family break. Any suggestions on were to go for good sit in food?, not to expensive and family friendly if possible. Anywhere in and around a 15 mile radius of Portballintrae would be good.
Also any good chinese takeaways nearby (I love my Chicken Curry!!)

Whynot try Jet Centre cafe. Better than average food for this type of eatery and reasonable prices. Think they do family deals.0

Bayview Hotel in Portballintrae, best restaurant in the area!0
-
The smugglers inn near the causeway is lovely and the coast in portrush is great too0

Ramore complex: Harbour, WineBar, Oriential & Coast. Best restaurant(s) in Northern Ireland. Get there early, though, as is mostly always exceptionally busy....0

the resturant above the winebar is lovely aswell they do a lovely curry, were going away in 2 weeks and going to try the bushtown hotel has anyone had it before? (we get 2for1 with our hi-life card so will prob go anyway
)
DEC GC £463.67/£450
EF- £110/COLOR]/£10000 -
The royal court hotel does a good carvery from 12-2:30 (around £8), they also do a good bar menu starting at 5pm (full mixed grill is around £12, its massive) The Causeway hotel does a decent meal slightly cheaper though. The chinese opposite the east strand in Portrush, think its Causeway st does a nice curry. Stay clear of the indian in Portrush, charged me £9 for 2 sausage suppers takeaway:eek:
...also if your near CastleRock there's a great wee chinese there, just before you come to the railway, does a cracking curry0 -

they do a decent carvery through the day, think its £6. They also have all them country music stars, like Dereck Ryan, Nathan Carter etc at the hotel0 -
The Harbour Bar @ ramores - much more laid back then ramores which reminds me of a school dining room and the food is fantastic
Ice House in Portstewart
Central bar Ballycastle
All you can eat Chinese buffet in Ballycastle ( never been but hear good things)
Chinese in Bushmills is ok
Thatch Inn Broughshane
Millside @ Cloughmills, Causeway Hotel, and Fullerton arms @ Ballintoy - all well liked up here - big portions good prices
If you are in Coleraine at lunchtime then you wont go wrong with Homemade on Railway st
And if in Ballymena - Park Avenue - next to argos and iceland at the Tower centre - one of the best meals Ive had was from there just last Sunday0 -
Am I the only one to find it funny people order Chicken Curry from a Chinese and get takeaway European Food even though theres a chippy near by?0
