Hi,
Me and my partner are FTB and we put in our offer (which was accepted) 6 weeks ago.
We have paid our Solicitor £250 to get the searches started over a monht ago, only they still haven't been done! The house is vacant therefore we were hoping things would be pretty smooth (wishful thinking).
From what my Solicitor has said the property was unregistered so they have had to register it, and now they still haven't sent my Solicitor the plans to enable him to start the searches.
I have phoned the EA today & she still hasn't phoned me back. What should I do??
Any advice would be appreciated, thank you.

Speak to you solicitor again and see if they can press the vendor's for the necessary documentation. Don't bother with the agent as this isn't any of their responsibility.0

The EA we bought through proved to be the most help in our house purchase. Keep on at them - get email addresses and at least you can spell it all out. EAs (and solicitors), I find, avoid a lot of calls. Have worked for both and wish I had a pound for every time I've had to say 'he's in a meeting at the moment...'
Emails tend to get dealt with quicker, IMO. Often it just takes a sentence to answer what's whatever question's being asked.

The general rule when buying a house is to chase, chase, chase. Make a nuisance, albeit a polite and pleasant one, and things will usually get done quicker! You had me at your proper use of "you're".0

It is my understanding that a property does not need to be registered to be sold - only be registered on the sale completion.
I do not see why the solicitor requires a plan ( I assume they mean the HM Land Registry Title Plan) to carry out a search - surely the residences address will surfice?
Good luck,
John0
