Hi,
Our tenancy ended 16th July at 12pm, i gave the keys back on the 15th July.
The check out was done on the 18th July and found to be fine. The check out report says that all repairs are to be done by the LL.
We haven't had our deposit back yet and i was under the impression that it was to be returned within 10 working days?
Is this correct?
I called the letting agent today and they said "The LL still hasn't agreed to release it, we will try and call her and call you back. We may be able to release half of your deposit"
Im still waiting on this call back, but as today is the tenth working day am i able to say on the phone that i will raise a dispute with TDS if its not returned ASAP?
The LL is a rubbish LL, she never answered her phone or got any repairs sorted so im not holding out much hope of her agreeing its prompt release.
Thanks for any help you can give

I would say that threatening to open a dispute with TDS after only ten days is a trifle premature. And not necessarily guaranteed to elicit the agent's total cooperation. You should try and appear to be reasonable and give the agent an opportunity to liaise with the landlord. I wouldn't be making any threats at all if I could help it.
In the meantime go onto the TDS website and claim all of your deposit back now.0 -

Thanks!
I have given them many opportunities to liaise with her, she doesn't seem to respond to anything.
I should of kept her number and called her myself!
Its actually been 14 days, but only 10 working days.
Should i await their phonecall before claiming the deposit back?
As we have to pay about £77 fees to the agent which is coming off the deposit.0 -
Don't wait for any phone calls, just get onto the TDS site and claim the lot back right away.0
