Would like to go to Barcelona for 2 on the following dates 26/07 - till 29/07 would like to have answers for the following questions

1. Cheapest way to get to the location
2. Should i consider a package or sort out individually
3. Should i book now or wait till the last minute

It might help if you told us where you want to travel from but as you are dependent on scheduled as opposed to charter flights, the earlier you book the better, a ramdom search shows BA at over £300 from Heathrow for the cheapest seats and easyjet at around £270 from any London airport, so booking it yourself is not going to be cheap. Whether any operator has availabliity at this stage for a Bank Holiday is questionable, many of the flights appear to be down to the last few seats, but in this case, if they have they may be cheaper. City Breaks at peak periods need early not late booking to achieve any sort of money saving deal

I live in Essex hence i am surrounded by ( all the london airports and Luton ,stansted)- I searched earlier on Expedia - the lowest package i found was 310 PP (including flights from LUTON) - Left to me - i can stay in any hotel - but my wife always insist on quality

I've never seen a package cheaper than organising yourself... get the flights with the cheapest low-cost (Easyjet, Ryanair, etc), and then a hotel on Booking or Trivago, where you can read comments and decide if the price is right for you.

Book the easyJet flights at https://www.easyJet.com and look for a hotel through https://www.hoteslcombined.com and https://www.hotelscomparison.com , look at hotel reviews at https://www.booking.com , also look at Barcelo, Accor, NH hotels, Melia.

The Hotel you mention is 25 minutes rail trip from Barcelona centre. Like every city if you want a decent hotel close to everything you need to pay for it - I've had bargains in Barcelona and they were cheap for a reason!

The base fare for the flights chosen is £262 each at the moment, so you need to be realistic about how much you need to pay for accommodation. £50 for three nights, to bring it up to £310 quoted is not enough so maybe go back to expedia and see what else they have paying more. Check tripadvisor before booking, but do it soon as the prices will only keep rising
