ISA allowance and capital gains tax allowance

Options
Thinking of opening a stocks and shares ISA, but have already sold some shares this tax year, using up some capital gains allowance. Is the ISA allowance separate from the capital gains allowance? Or are profits in stocks and shares ISAs not treated as capital gains?

    Totally separate.

S&S ISAs are not subject to CGT nor any extra income tax on dividends for higher rate taxpayers.
