cavity wall insulation

Options
Anyone want to post before and after, or just after, pictures of their wall after having cavity wall insulation done.

A friend is convinced his walls will not look nice after it is done as he is trying to sell his house.

It is not obvious. If you look close at the wall you'll see where holes were drilled, at the corners of bricks I think, and then filled with mortar. Why have it done if he is selling, and is worried?

Ours has been done and you can't tell unless you look closely.

The damage is not noticeable at all on my place, and I work in construction consultancy.

It was only when a builder showed me we already had cavity insulation that I could see the holes. It must have been done over 25 years ago, so the cement has blended in somewhat, but this is what we see now, if we look hard enough!...

Why have it done if he is selling

He changed to a different tariff for his gas and electricity and this is one of the "benefits"

He thought there was no point in fixing so he went for the cheapest tariff he could get.

He also has harling on the walls, the brickwork is only up to the downstairs windows.

On a brick finish if the job is done properly then the bore holes shouldn't be overly noticeable. If on the other hand you have a rendered, textured or masonry painted finish then those holes will stick out like a sore thumb for years to come unless the whole surface is refinished.

Got mine done from the inside while I was building the house, so nothing to see.

I would be more likely to buy a house that had been done than if it had not.
I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.
