firefox crashes

Each time I open Firefox it crashes, it used to be my main browser, but I switch to IE7 then Opera, then when I decided to go back to it after a while it crashes a few seconds after I open it each time (and automatically closes), I tried installing the newest version but had the same problem. I went through the steps on their support site and am still stuck so please help!

HAve you started FIrefox in safe mode. Start - programs - mozilla - frefox safe mode

Yeh tried that same thing.. Apparantly I may have a bad ram chip (recently my notebook has crashed and come up with a blue screen a couple of times)..

have you got the firefox siteadviser plug-in installed, as this may be the cause

Well I just did a fresh install of Firefox,I didn't download it seperately so don't think so..

have you tried deleting the
C:\Documents and Settings\YOURNAME\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles folder and restarting it?
Sometimes the profile gets messed up and wont let it open.

this will clear all your setting etc so you might want to backup the bookmarks inside the folder to a spare place.
